Every webshop has to deal with it from the start: product presentation and logistics. How do you ensure an optimal online shopping experience and flawless logistics for satisfied regular customers, more conversion and fewer returns? And what is already possible? To help and inspire businesses in this area, Orbitvu Benelux<\/strong> and LOGISTORE <\/strong>launched the Experience Centre for E-commerce and logistics<\/strong> in Dongen (Netherlands). <\/p>\n\n

Space and time for an experience across the board<\/h2>\n\n

From an Experience Centre, a visitor should expect much more than a display of products, believes Lennart Stachowitz, operations director and co-owner of both companies. ‘Where the idea comes from? Listening to customers. What questions and challenges do they have besides their search for a solution? We want to go beyond selling or renting systems or offering photography as a service. The whole story around (online) product presentation is so much bigger than the explanation and demo of our solutions. The same applies to logistics master data management. We already had the specialist knowledge and experience in-house. Now we have 500m2 to present that broader story.’ <\/p>\n\n

Creating an image or video is one thing – presenting it is another<\/h2>\n\n

Orbitvu Benelux gives extensive demos of all automatic photo\/video systems. Customers can operate the equipment themselves and get to know all the options in the software. With products from their own range so that challenging product features – e.g. reflective or transparent material – are tackled right away. ‘At the end of the demo, the customer knows how such a system works and what visual content it produces. With that comes the advice of our account manager which solution best suits the content needs, range and budget. But we know that that customer will have to deal with many more aspects and choices when creating and presenting content.’ <\/p>\n\n

Getting hands-on experience through simulation<\/h2>\n\n

‘Preceding the photo or film shoot is a piece of preparation. For example, a well-considered choice of image type. What details or features does the online client want to see? How are we going to style it? There is also a whole process after content creation. How do you present the product images on your website? How do you arrange input in the PIM system or your catalogue? Do you also want to use the content in other places, such as brochures, socials or in the physical shop? Suppose you opt for a picture of a model with a complete outfit: how do you make sure that the individual items are recognised by the system? <\/p>\n\n

We not only like to think along with you about the possibilities of creating an optimal (online) shopping experience, but also about an efficient workflow for content creation and presentation. As a supplier, we see a great opportunity to add value by paying attention to this in the Experience Centre. This goes beyond sharing knowledge. We want to let visitors experience through simulation what practice can look like.’ <\/p>\n\n

From dimensions and weight to complete product data<\/h2>\n\n

The same customer-specific way of demonstrating – self-service, products from its own range – LOGISTORE uses as a supplier of a complete range of master data solutions. <\/p>\n\n

‘Many customers initially approach us to collect reliable basic logistics data: length, width, height and weight. We also want to discuss with customers which other product data are interesting to record in the IT system immediately upon receipt of goods. With a complete logistics data set for an article, you have all the input you need to make the right choice at each stage of the logistics process: from goods receipt to packaging and dispatch. Why not take full advantage of that right away? <\/p>\n\n

Events: share own knowledge and complement with partners<\/h2>\n\n

There is specialist knowledge and experience within both Orbitvu Benelux, the logistics consultancy and projects agency, and LOGISTORE’s master data division. These were already shared in webinars, master classes, guest lectures and white papers. <\/p>\n\n

‘In the current premises, we have all the space and facilities to receive visitors. A programme is in the making. Sometimes we will highlight a theme ourselves in an interactive knowledge session or workshop. Other times, we will invite partners to fill in part of the story. Take for instance a theme like 3D modelling and AR applications. Many companies are working on that. Nice if different parties then bundle their knowledge and inspiration. <\/p>\n\n

One-stop shop for content creation: expansion of Orbitvu offering<\/h2>\n\n

A large chunk (70 m2) of the showroom space has been reserved. The wait is on for the E-comm Studio+, Orbitvu’s largest solution. <\/p>\n\n

With a turntable with a 5m diameter and weight capacity of up to 4000 kg, it is the solution for large and heavy products. This completes the range and allows us to create content for anything. From diamond to sofa, cabinet, quad, camping tent or machine. <\/p>\n\n
